Working to help the stray dogs of Taiwan
Today we’re announcing a partnership with Animals Taiwan, an NGO that works to improve the lives of Taiwan’s stray dogs, by offering them medical assistance, rehabilitation and hopefully adoption. As part of this cooperation, we’ve designed a set of stickers, featuring some of the dogs Animals Taiwan have helped.
All net proceeds from sales of the Dogpix sticker set will be donated to Animals Taiwan, in support of their goal to reduce the problem of abandoned dogs and cats in and around Taiwan’s capital, Taipei.
By downloading these stickers, you can help improve the lives of vulnerable animals. It is estimated that while the number of stray dogs in Taiwan decreased from 613,959 in 1999 to 86,000 in 2009, the number homed in shelters rose from 78,000 to 127,000 in the same period. Organizations such as Animals Taiwan rely on public donations, as there is very little funding available from either local or central government. A donation, however small, can drastically improve the lives of these animals, and by downloading these stickers, you can help too!
